Management of Cleft Lip and Palate: A Narrative Review

Cleft of lip and palate are the most common serial congenital anomalies to affect orofacial region. Its occurrence can be isolated or together in various combination and/or along with other deformities. In addition aesthetic disfigurement, a child cleft suffers functional morbidity such as restricted maxillofacial growth, speech anomalies, swallowing feeding difficulties, hearing loss recurrent ear infections. Although not generally life-threatening, living evoke significant health burden. The management patients is very complex requires multidisciplinary team several treatment interventions This article aims review primary care physicians literature knowledge about palate.
